How much does the basic test cost?
$15 if you subscribe to any of the SC Employee Insurance Program health insurance plans (State Health Plan or BCBS Standard or Savings, BlueChoice Health Plan, or CIGNA HMO) and have not already had a Worksite Screening in the same calendar year.

$42 if this is your second Worksite Screening within the same calendar year (January – December).
$42 if Tricare or Medicare is your primary insurance.
$42 if you do not subscribe to any of the SC Employee Insurance Program health insurance plans.
$42 for dependents (only those over 18 years may participate)

If I already participated in the Worksite Screening in the same calendar year (January to December), can I participate again?
Yes, but the SC Employee Insurance Plan only covers 1 Worksite Screening in each calendar year, so you would have to pay $42 instead of $15 for the 2nd time you took part in the screening.

Does my participation in the Worksite Screening affect the coverage of other lab tests my health care provider might order in his/her office?
No

Can my spouse participate in the MUSC Worksite Screening?
Yes, spouses of MUSC employees can take part in the Worksite Screening.

Can my dependents who are at least 18 years old participate in the screening?
Yes they can, but their basic fee is $42.

How will I receive my report?
Your report will be sent to you about 2-3 weeks after the screening by way of the US Postal Service. You will be asked to fill out a mailing label when you come to the screening.

I need to fill out a registration form when I deliver my check to the Wellness Center?
No, your “online” registration replaces the need to complete a registration form ahead of time. You will be asked to sign a registration form when you come on the day of screening.

Where do I drop off my payment and who do I write it out to?
Deliver your payment to the Membership Desk in the 2nd floor lobby of the MUSC Wellness Center (45 Courtenay Street). Payment can be dropped off at the Wellness Center during the following times: Mon-Thurs 5:30am-10:00pm, Fri 5:30am-8:00pm, Sat 9:00am-5:00pm, Sun 11:00am-7:00pm (call 792-5757 for Wellness Center hours of operation during holidays).

Who do I write my check out to?
Write your check to COHSG (Carolina Occupational Health Screening Group) and put it in a sealed envelope addressed to "Annie Lovering Steele, Health 1st"

If I do not pay by the payment due date, will my registration be remain intact?
No, your registration is not complete until your payment is received. Your registration will be canceled if your payment is not received by the payment due date noted in the “confirmation email” you receive from Health 1st after you register online. If you have misplace this email and are unsure about your payment due date or if you have any questions about this, contact Health 1st at health1st@musc.edu .

Do I need to fast for the tests?
Yes, you need to fast 12 hours before your appointment time (you may have water and any of your required medications). Drinking plenty of water helps with the blood draw.

Do I need to bring anything with me on the day of screening?
Unless Health 1st tells you otherwise, you will need to bring your Insurance card ID number for claim filing (only if you have the state insurance plans and are paying $15 for the basic test).

How long does the screening take?
About 15 to 30 minutes.

Are my test results sent to my health care provider or available in the MUSC record system? b>
No, your records are sent only to you in a sealed envelope. It is very important that you share the results with your health care provider so any necessary follow up can be addressed and the results can also become part of your medical record if you so desire.
